Please message Alex if you cannot find an answer to your question.
We will begin with a conversation to go over your goals for treatment and review other signs, symptoms, and possible root causes of disharmony. Alex will then have you lie down on a comfortable table while she uses additional methods of diagnosis (pulse and tongue diagnosis, channel and point palpation, etc.) before she inserts thin needles into specific points on your body. You may feel a slight prick or a dull ache, warmth, or heaviness. You will then relax for about 20-30 minutes before the needles are removed. Alex may use additional treatments such as gua sha, cupping, or moxabustion depending on her diagnosis and your treatment goals.
It is recommended that you wear loose, comfortable clothing to each treatment, but draping sheets are always available for your comfort. Please make sure to eat and drink plenty of water before (and after) your treatment so that you have plenty of Qi to move!
Currently, the insurance companies make it very hard for acupuncturists to treat holistically while also being successful. For the time being, Alex does not accept insurance. However, patients are provided with a superbill upon request to submit to their insurance company for possible reimbursement. Alex Donegan Acupuncture is not responsible for claims denied by insurance companies. Patients must contact their insurance company to inquire if and how their plan includes coverage for acupuncture services.
Payment is due at each treatment. Alex is currently accepting payment via cash, check, or Zelle.
